Lunch - 27 Mar 05
I grabbed lunch on the way home from my tours. I stopped at a rest area off the expressway for steamed dumplings and a Coke (5500 won). I asked the cashier if she spoke Engrish. She used her hands to indicate a little bit; she never said a word. The menus were only in Korean so I pointed to pictures to order. When I went looking at the chopstick holder for a fork, the cooks figured it out and asked me Poku (fork)? Lunch was tasty, it helped me wake up, and endure the drive home. The expressway going toward Seoul is really a long parking lot; it took about 1 hour to go 50 kilometers (30 miles). The car averaged 42km/gal or 30 mpg.
