Gongsanseong Fortress - 3 Apr 05

I drove around a short while looking for the Fortress. The tourist office there gave me a detailed map of how to get there; somehow I need the detailed map before I get there, I'm just not sure how I get it. The ticket guy ripped me off 200 won (twenty cents) in change; I really couldn't argue since I don't speak Korean, how annoying. The fortress had a 6 foot wall around it; this doesn't sound very high, but it was placed on the ridgeline and was very well defended by slope. The low part of the fortress was defended by the river. The tour book said I could walk around the fortress and it was only a few clicks; they forgot to mention that it was a few clicks up and a few clicks down. Most of the fortress has been rebuilt and some of it needs rebuilt again. Bathroon photos are for Cyndi. Yes, I did bang the drum.
