Underground Tour - 21 Apr 05

Seattle was built on a tidal plain. After a fire wiped out the town, the city raised the street level by 8-30 feet to escape sewer/tidewater problems. Businesses kept their first floor as basement, the city built retaining walls to hold the street. It is a very interesting tour.
